Bc2 Do Gaming League Week 4 and 5 Round up
BC2 DO GAMING LEAGUE Week 5+6 Roundup 1st Div
Week 4:
The 4th week of the league sees the infamous snowy mountain village of White Pass come into play. A very tricky linear setup with only 3 points which run between deployments. A frantic first rush at the start to get at least 2 flags, usually sees some epic confrontations either in or outside of the closely grouped buildings, which usually end up as piles of rubble.
The BBH Seniors went up against the MBB guys and secured the win with a 2-0 margin. The Selous Scouts went up against the extremists, NFX. Some intense fighting from both sides in both rounds, which ended up in NFX’s favour by close margins respectively. SSG then went head to head with ATF, unfortunately ATF could only field 7 players. SSG took the game 2-0 but ATF put up a pretty strong fight to only lose by a small difference.
Finishing it off GRRR went up against DAC where each team took one round resulting in a draw. So to summarise, BBH, NFX, SSG all managed wins with GRRR and DAC having a draw.
Vovo from SSG also had something to add: “The first round was a pretty tight affair. With no team willing to budge. Our focus remained unchanged for the duration of the match, keep two flags and work from there. ATF found it very difficult to break us down on flags. Which resulted in the second round being a more one-sided affair.
It was a tough game as I expected. The ATF guys really brought it to us with everything they had. I respect that a great deal. Well played guys!
Week 5:
So after some intense action on White Pass which saw some interesting results, teams are now going up against each other on Panama Canal. A Map synonymous for pretty intense armour orientated battles between A and B flags with infantry concentrating over the Warehouse at C and between D flags. The map layout can often cause squads to break up and lose majority control, resulting in them getting pushed back to the deployment, but flanking manoeuvres are topic of the day here with many routes around the areas of heavy contest, keeping everyone on their toes.
DAC faced off against MBB and took the 2-0 win convincingly. SSG had a match up against GRRR which was marred in latency problems from the start with random disconnects from both sides during the game. SSG however managed to keep ahead and took the game with a 2-0 margin. ATF and NFX matched up to produce a 2-0 win in ATF’s favour. Finally BBH and SLS fought it out and BBH took the win 2-0.
Jansen from DAC had the following to add after their game: “We started off with MyBB only having 7 players but the 2nd round they were a full team. We started off by capping the flags closest to us and setting up perimeter defenses at the 2 flags closest to their flag. After watching what their plan was we started pushing towards the final flag to be able to push them to their base.
Sometimes they got through to one of the other flags but the team quickly reacted and got the flag back.
We worked hard on our strat and it payed off! Thanks to all my players for their commitment and team work and we also wish MyBB all the best for their future games.”
The current standings are listed in the image below:

Good luck to all teams in the final week 6 and any pick n play games which still need to happen.
BC2 League 1st Div Week 3 Tally
So another week of mayhem has come and gone, with 6 teams having played their games this week and a further 2 who have moved their week 3 game into week 4 due a technical issue on the clan servers on Sunday night. No teams were able to join a server and thus having to rush to book servers for the next days ahead to get this game in. All is not lost though, a mere speed wobble on the Bc2 racetrack.
This week the map Laguna Alta was in play. A 3 point map which sees the Russians starting off with a slight advantage being the closest to the A and B flags, with the US having C as their closest flag. This setup usually results in some varied tactics, as there are many paths to each flag from different directions. A loadout of 3 quad bikes and an APC make for an interesting first assault where a team could theoretically spread out and head for each of the flags, with a possible outcap on the first push. Flags C and B have the height advantage on A, so choosing which points you cap is vital.
GRRR played the guys from MyBroadBand (MBB) and took that game with a 2-0 margin which currently leaves GRRR in 3rd position with DAC. The alcohol driven, nicotine crazed gunslingers (ATF) came out blazing to defeat DAC 2-0 with only 7 players on the field, which keeps ATF in the lead in this division thus far with 3 games and 3 wins and DAC, tied with GRRR with 2 wins and a loss each. The Super Serials (SSG) also took a win in their game against the Scounts (SLS) which leaves them in 2nd position behind ATF, vying for the top stop when they face off against ATF later in the week.
Scourge from ATF gave his view on their game “The map choice for this week was Laguna Alta. A Map that a lot of our players don’t like at all. Being one down on DAC we knew it would be a tough game. But we were motivated and changed our strat to work with only 7 guys, and it paid off. We won the first map by ‘n very small margin, DAC Kept putting the pressure on us. The 2nd round was no different, DAC was all over the flags and we struggled to keep up to them. We had a break when we stole their APC, which gave us a good chance to cap two flags. It was a very intense game WP to DAC, From the ATF team we wish you the best of luck for the rest of the league.”
TheVovo from SSG says for their game against SLS that well organised squad work, and a good understanding of the map secured SSG the win on the night. “The practise sessions that we had, left us in good stead to deal with most teams that we could come up against on that map. Thanks to all involved” Says Vovo. Read More…
Slodaz from GRRR has shared with us his indepth perspective of the game, blow by blow with a bit of humour, thanks Slo..
“They say that history is written by the victors and when you combine that with esteemed war veterans like leelo, NiteShade, s3xy_j0nny and Voetsek-Mikey you are in for a tale of carnage, guts and glory. The map is Laguna Alta and we played our opening move to perfection. Squad Alpha moved onto flag A with the APC, spewing high caliber rounds and a guided missile at MyBB armour. A few seconds later the APC went down and we started mopping up the enemy and claiming the flag. Leelo started dropping his anti-tank mines of awesomeness, which proved a vital strategy in this war. In fact, J0nny and Lee were so good at taking the APC down, it ended up spending most of its time cringing in the MyBB base. This resulted in the perfect opportunity to steal it and enhance our forces firepower at the two flags.
MyBB put up a valiant fight, with a strong co-ordinated rocket attack on the APC’s. To be fair, their stolen APC only remained in our hands for a few minutes before fiery mortars of doomage sent it and its driver to the scrap yard. Dead [grrr] squad members were frantically shouting “they are reviving, move in guys…” until the squad leaders called for discipline and we settled into our rhythm.
Lets switch to the second squad led by Mikey, who was busy laying down covering fire and getting their squad into position for a frontal assault on the B Flag. With men positioned on the hill and moving through the green containers, the medics had their hands full keeping their teemies from flat lining. Grenades and tubes filled the air with a symphony of death, pushing their sniper back to the far corner of the map. With bodies strewn across the train wreck, Mikey’s squad moved in to dominate the flag.
MyBB put up a great fight and threw everything they had at us – including a strange white fluffy sheep that wiped out our whole squad on contact – screen shots will be sent to the admin’s for forensic analysis. At the end of the two games an exhausted [grrr] team finished on top with 2 wins. All agreed that we had a fantastic game, which is all the motivation that we need going into our next match with the well oiled =DAC= team.”
NFX and BBH have moved this weeks game to the end of Week 4 due to the connection issues mentioned earlier.
And that pretty much sums it up until next weeks addition. Good luck to all teams!
BC2 DG League Leg 4 Week 2 Wrap-up
Week 2 Division 1 Sum up
So the second week has come and gone and the dust is still settling. After Arica Harbour, which was played twice in a row at the end of the last leg by some teams from the second division, and playing it again as the first map of the 4th leg in 1st Division, players were left in the infantry only mind set going forward into Laguna Presa, which consists of an APC each side. This immediately calls for a change in strategy and kit loadout. The placement of the capture points also creates a bit of variation as they are situated in a triangular shape rather than linear, often resulting in a two prong attack going either way.
All of that said, lets take a look at the games:
NFX played MBB proving that it will take more than one loss in a leg to slow them down. After a 2-0 win, they will hopefully be putting their best foot forward in a match up against BBH in the next round.
“We did our homework, we stuck to our strat and it paid off, we realised that you cant stop practising, strating or you will be beaten. We aim to go into our next game against BBH well prepared. We haven’t played them before so it should be interesting for both teams” says clan leader -=NFX=- Vitblitz
DAC are continuing their winning streak with a second win after playing SLS. Two wins this round puts them tied in first place with ATF, and gives them a good advantage to stay on top. If BBH and later SSG fail to stop their streak, they may stay on top, ATF are in the same boat. Unfortunately DAC couldn’t be reached for comment.
BBH and SSG went head to head and ended up in a draw. BBH secured the first round win with some very sneaky rear end tactics and proved to be a bit overwhelming for SSG. However SSG managed to pull their looseness together from the first round and held the majority of the flags in the second to secure a tie.
“It was a very even and tough battle, both teams gave their best and scores reflected it” Says Hillbilly_Delux from BBH.
And finally ATF played GRRR and also managed to secure a 2-0 win, leaving them tie in first place with DAC. They are also proving to be unstoppable and will be a very good match up in the later stages of this leg against some of the other teams.
Scourge from ATF shared the following with us: “The first round was chaotic with a lot of action going on at all 3 flags. Grrr played extremely well and had us on our toes for quite some time. The 2nd round was no different with Grrr managing to steal our APC on numerous occasions, sending us into a frantic spin trying to take both out. We have played Grrr in the previous leg, but we could see that they grew a lot stronger since then. I’m happy with ATF’s performance, playing well under pressure and not taking any team for granted”
And thats it for the second round of the 4th Leg. Good luck to all teams going forward.
BC2 DG League Leg 4 Week 1 Wrap-up
Do Gaming League, 1st Division Week 1 Sum Up
After a short break from Leg 3, Leg 4 has kicked into gear last week which sees SSG and NFX promoted from 2nd division, each holding the top spot in their group respectively. MBB and SLS have also been seeded after playing in the 2nd division in the previous leg. GRRR, BBH, DAC and ATF remain in this division and look at defending their ground.
This week saw SSG and NFX go head to head on the knuckle whitening Arica Harbour. Both teams having undefeated success in the previous leg, were eagerly awaiting this match up to prove their dominance over each other. SSG showed that they are in it to win it and pulled off a 2-0 win. Being the first game of the leg however, there is still plenty room to make back any deficit.
SSG Vice Captain Surv0 shared a few words: “We are pretty happy with our performance on the night and relieved that we managed to pull the win. NFX are a good bunch of guys and having watched them steam roll through all their opponents in the previous leg, and not having had a practice with them since leg 2, we were pretty worried that we may get caught off guard. Fortunately we kept our heads in the game and stuck to the plan. Good luck to NFX for the rest of the leg, and we look forward to the forth coming games.”
ATF played MBB and held their ground by pulling off a 2-0 victory.
Scourge – Captain of the ATF Bc2 team was around to comment: “Having finished the last leg off with a bang (Throwing NSD off their winning streak) the team got into this leg motivated and confident. Our first game was against the MyBB Team, On the very map that we drew against NSD. We wanted to start off the leauge with a win, with the teamwork and support we managed to secure a victory over the MyBB Team. The MyBB team played well, coming from 2nd division they proved their worth, with a lot of strong players in their team. ATF is really looking forward to this leg, and wishes all the other teams in Div 1 the best of luck.”
1st Division regulars GRRR and DAC also pulled off wins against the new seeded teams. Unfortunately they could not be reached for comment.
So Week 2 sees SSG, GRRR, DAC and ATF tied with 1 point each, and the remainder teams on nothing, moving into their next games against each other on Laguna Presa. A map which has created a few upsets before may strike again.
BC2 DG League Leg 3 2nd Div Summary
Group A:
The last round in this 3rd leg (2nd leg for BC2), has seen all teams finishing up their remaining games. A mixture of pick n plays and scheduled matches. With a surprise outcome +SSG+Ravens took the lead in Group A, with =BFB= TuBBeH coming in close second and The War Geeks coming in third.
The Ravens had a scheduled pick n play with the Alkanols last Thursday but unfortunately they were only able to field 4 players and thus conceded a forfeit, the second for the leg which may see them being banned. Ravens went into the final game against BFB with a 5 game winning streak and managed to turn that into an undefeated 6 game streak which wraps up the leg.
TuBBeH finished off their week by playing back to back games last night. Their first game was against SLS who they managed to defeat 2 games to nothing, and the second which was literally right after the first game, they lost two round to Ravens, both on Arica harbour.
The next leg should hopefully see Ravens promoted into 1st Division.
+SSG+Ravens (6 Games 6 Wins, 0 losses, 0 draws)
=BFB=TuBBeH(6 Games, 5 Wins, 1 Loss, 0 draws)
“I’m very happy with the result we achieved on Sunday. We knew that the match against =BFB= would be the toughest of the leg. We have had several practises on this map (Arica Harbour). You could see that all that experience really paid off in the end. Our medics were working overtime with the revives, which really showed in the second round.
The +SSG+Ravens team has come a long way since the start of the leg. Very proud of the guys.” – Vaughan “The Vovo” Robey – Ravens Captain
“We had such a great game against SLS last night. Managing to come back after losing the initial battles. SLS started well but after we changed our strat we just locked them down. Very disheartened in the second game as SSG destroyed us, we had no idea to get around your teams successful Medic skills, in the first half we had the kills on you guys, with our teams kill total at way over the 350 ticket limit but its was just not good enough against a team of medics. SSG were the better team at the end of the day and deserved the win… Congrats… Good luck with the Play offs” – sluggy BFB Captain
“Having played our full quota of games for the 3rd leg of the DoGaming BC2 tournament, the War Geeks have come away with a new respect for the effort that goes into having a successful team. We tried our best, and failed, but we had fun, which is what we were after. Crak Tribal, SSG Ravens, and SLS Scouts, for want of a better word, obliterated us. We have learned a lot from the experience of playing against these clans and look forward to building a team that will provide more resistance in future encounters. The bug has bitten us and you can rest assured that we will be back for more.” – Flatspin WRG Leader
Group B:
NFX has maintained the lead the entire leg and have carried that success right through to the end. They are currently sitting in No. 1 position with 6 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws. iG looks as if theyve wrangled themselves into 2nd place followed by AAG in third.
This last week saw NFX play HF who they beat 2 games to 0. They also had a scheduled game against NSD-Sons of Chaos which hasn’t happened due to them pulling out of the league.
iB played AAG and beat them 2 games to 0 which puts them into second place.
It seems that NFX will be joining SSG in the 1st Div for the next leg.
NFX (6 Games, 6 wins, 0 losses)
iB brute force(6 Games, 5 Wins, 1 Loss, 0 draws)
“Once again all I can say is that I’m extremely proud of -=NFX=- Invictus. We finished our last match on Sun against HF and there was nothing stopping our undefeated winning streak. All our hard work, dedication and practice’s have paid off, we aim to keep at it. It was a real shame we never got to play NSD, but we are looking forward to BOTC.” Rob “Vitblitz” Muir
“iB Brute force has been working hard after losing out to NFX the 1st game of the leg and made us go that extra mile to prepare for the remaining matches. My guys have been playing well and I think the team has grown over the last month. We won all games thus far and are really looking forward to the next leg of the do gaming league. I am so proud of Clan IB as a whole” Nashief ‘ltdabull’Hendricks
iB brute force(6 Games, 5 Wins, 1 Loss, 0 draws)
BC2 DG League Leg 3, week 5 wrap-up
Week 5 done and dusted and teams are almost done with this leg (1 or 2 Games) left.
This week’s map (Laguna Alta) could have surprised a few.
1st Division saw:
NSD continue their undefeated streak with 2 games left vs. Ubs and ATF.
Tyron “Prokill” Batatile [NSD Captain]
We had a strat going in and we stuck to it and it paid off, 1st round we managed to push them back to their uncap, but 2nd round they moved a lot faster. NSD team is playing really well together communication is the key and we are doing it well, it’s all paying off but things will soon get a lot harder. But we will continue to put in the effort and hopefully be rewarded.
====================================================
UBS come out on top of DAC, and thus snatching 2nd place in the Division
Louis “Fruitloops” Jonker [UBS Captain]
Going into the match vs. =DAC= I was definitely feeling the pre-match butterflies, we were up against a team that rivalled us in points and standings in the league being tied @ 2nd place.
The 1st round we had our strategy planned; by keeping the all-important “C” flag, and swopping between capping A & B, which worked out nicely. The 2nd round was definitely different and =DAC= brought their A-Game, they kept “C” from us with awesome effect! I am really proud of our guys, for what we have achieved so far, even if we had the shaky start of this leg. I feel our team has now finally settled and but looking forward we have our work cut out for ourselves but I am really confident about our team now.
===================================================
ATF got a win over BBH which sees them go into 3rd place with Just NSD to play
Spartan187 [ATF Captain]
Having never played BBH in any game before we were quite nervous before the game started. Expecting to tie with them at best. In the first round our team worked well together and we won, with BBH not handing over their flags without a fight. The second round BBH showed new fury, not giving us an inch of ground without sacrificing our squads.BBH had the lead for most of round two, stealing our APC many times and overpowering our team. In the end we decided to risk it all and go for the win. Our players pushed forward taking the second round with only 15 tickets to ATF. It was a tense game and BBH played well.
We are really enjoying the league, every game we play we learn new tactics and gain experience for future legs.We hope that more and more teams will join in on the fun and experience the good sportsmanship and friendly players the BC2 community has to offer.
===================================================
Grrr had a tough game vs. HF which resulted in a draw
===================================================
Most teams still have 1 or 2 games left and some could cause an upset, but as it stands, NSD and UBS are set to move up to the Primer Division. This week’s map (Arica Harbour) has some teams worried as it infantry based and has no vehicles
2nd Division Group A
Group A
BFB and SSG are still fighting for the top spot and next week it will come to a head when they have to play each other. WrG are holding 3rd place but some teams have a few games to go and it’s still open to anyone.
Currently SSG and BFB are tied with 4 games and 4 wins. This week ahead of us will see the Ravens play their pick n’ play against the Alkanols and the final leg game on Sunday against BFB which will see one of those teams taking lead position moving into the playoffs.
Surv0’s comments:
We are feeling good moving into the last week. Weve been putting in alot of time with regards to practices and strategies. We are looking forward to the game against BFB and feel it will be a little more tricky than our previous games, but we can only wait and see. Good luck to all.
SLS comment on their win vs. WrG
George “IcemanGP” Michaelides [Senior Player]
Our game against WrG went very well for the first time in the league we were all communicating and working together as a team. We normally pretty much run around and do i own thing. For the first time we kept to a strat. We got a bit greedy and went for the third flag on the 1st round and landed up with only 1 flag, which caused a big ticket drop. On the second round we pushed them back and managed to take all 3 flags. It all boils down to us learning as the league goes on and starting to work better as a team.
BFB beat Enthalpy: Enthalpy was unable to field a team hence had to forfeit.
BFB comment:
Justin “SluggyJ” Robinson [BFB Captain]
Our league has been going well, We won our first 3 games convincingly and we are looking forward to our next 2 games against !SLS! Scouts and +SSG+Ravens
I am sure +SSG+Ravens will give us a much tougher game as they are undefeated. My guys have been playing well and I think our game may decide who tops the group. With the unfortunate drop out of FlaBBeR from the BC2 League, it now rest on our shoulder to do =BFB= Proud!
BC2 DG League Leg 3, week 4 wrap-up
So the Telkom Do Gaming league has reached the end of week 4 (White Pass), and sees us moving into week 5 (Laguna Alta) with eyes on the end of the leg. We have been kept upto date with the proceedings of the premier division and would like to give some feedback on the lower divisions. We will hopefully endeavour to contribute game content on a weekly basis for each round. That being said, lets get down to business.
1st Division:
Sees NSD hold their undefeated top spot having beaten the likes of BBH, GRRR, DAC and HF while UBS and DAC fight for 2nd place, having won 2, drawn 1 and lost 1 respectfully. BBH currently holds 3rd Place with 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss.
“NSD`s game vs HF came as a wake up call as they totally caught us out in the start. Capping and defending the center flag very well. causing us to put extra effort into taking and holding 2 flags” says NSD Leader Prokill
“HF had a good start and lost momentum with 2 quick disconnections. Besides that point NSD was all over the place. We felt like we were playing against 16 of them” says Pedi from HF
2nd Division (Group A)
SSG Ravens have as of last night taken the lead in this group, with BFB-Tubbeh coming in second place. The Ravens beat BUD on Laguna last night for their week 5 game, 2 games to 0. They will be facing the as of yet, undefeated BFB side on Arica next week. The Ravens have won all 4 consecutive games in this leg and are looking strong for the playoffs. BFB have won all 3 of their games this leg.
“Ravens have played well together this leg, proving that commitment, effort, and hardwork do pay off in a team game environment. Having been a bit shaky in the first leg, we are striding to make back that difference this leg and look forward to hopefully moving into the 1st Division after the playoffs” – Surv0 from SSG
WrG is sitting in 3nd with 2 wins and 2 loses and Enthalpy Gaming are in 4th having 1 win,1 draw and 1 loss. As things are going now, Enthalpy may not make the top 3 in their division, along with SLS, CraK and BUD. But good luck to all involved!
“The War Geeks entered the league as a social device to try and spend some more time together as a clan, with no intentions of taking it seriously. As the league has progressed we have started to think about strategies and organize inter-clan practice matches. We have been having a lot of fun, and even though we have been severely outclassed by some of our opposition we are taking notes and learning from the experience, hopefully improving as we move ahead.” – Flatspin from WRG
2nd Division 2 (group B)
Group B has been dominated by -=NFX=- Invictus holding 1st place by winning all their games. The morale at team -=NFX =- is high and it seems they want to take their team to the next level of competition. They have a really dedicated team and play well together. ESWAT and iB are tied for 2nd ESWAT having played 5 games have won 2, drawn 1 and lost 2. While iB have played 4 won 3 and lost 1.
This group also see the forfeit of the NSD 2nd team due to a lack of devoted players .
Next weeks game offers a less liner map (Laguna Alta) which put a spin on some of the games.
Quotes from some of the teams:
From: iB Itabull
“As the leg comes towards the closing stages we still have 2 games remaining against [AAG] and [MYBB] both on the map “Africa Harbor”. We only lost 1 game thus far against [NFX], it was our first game playing as a team with a few new members but we are improving every game. Beating [ESWAT] and [HF] was a step in the right direction after our 1st game. We’re looking forward to the rest of the games and the league.”
From: NSD Prokill
“I am worried about UBs and ATF as in the last leg we drew vs ATF but this map (Arica Harbour) will be tougher as I think it’s more their style, as for Ubs we played them on this map (Arica Harbour) last leg and JUST came out on top. We are doing well but we are weary coming towards the closing stages of the leg we still need to face ATF and nAz and uBs and not let our guard down, last week’s game was a wakeup call as we had a tough game VS HF.”
From: -=NFX=-Vitblitz and Invictus
“This is our 1st league, we were put in our place in 1st leg, so we decided to step it up, put in compulsory practice and get strats going and walk throughs before each map. I am so proud of -=NFX=- as a whole, the chaps are more dedicated than ever, the moral is high. Every player is like an important cog in a well oiled machine. We stick to our roles as team players, making victory our main goal.
We have [EWSAT] up next on Laguna Alt. Thanks to hours of practice and good group of dedicated players, Strats have be drawn up, player roles allocated for the upcoming battle. Needless to say -=NFX=- had it tough in beginning but we learnt from our mistakes, quickly making us a versatile team and we looking forward to what else we can learn from the rest of the league.”
