The Black Dahlia Murder – Deflorate
Deflorate is the fourth trashing release from the melodic death metal group The Black Dahlia Murder. Deflorate sees the songwriting of band leader and rhythm guitarist Brian Eschbach at its most developed and refined state ever. The Black Dahlia Murder still maintains their Swedish influenced trash and black metal with its blasting of drums and the overall sound.
Now to the review – I’m quite a big fan of The Black Dahlia Murder, and their sound, as I initially got into their music from their previous album Nocturnal which was released in 2007. But this is easily their best work to date. From the very first song Black Valor, you are pulled into something amazing (if this is your genre of music that is
), it almost feels like you are embarking on a journey of some sorts as it starts playing, and after just over 3 min you are welcomed by probably one of the better known songs from the album, Necropolis, which is easily one of my favourites on the album (it also has an awesome music video that can be viewed on youtube), along with track 10 I Will Return, which some of you might remember from my Battlefield 2 movie that I made in 2009.
So if blasting drums, hardcore vocals and ripping guitars and solos is your thing then give The Black Dahlia Murder a listen. You won’t be disappointed.
