The Expendables Movie Review
In this week’s movie review, I will be reviewing the movie The Expendables, directed by Sylvester Stallone. This movie features a long list of famous actors, namely Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren (The Silversands poker advert dude), Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steve Austin & so many more!

The movie is about the main character, Barney Ross (Stallone) who leads an elite mercenary group who call themselves ‘The Expendables’ who go after a Latin American dictator, but find themselves in a situation where they’re battling a CIA agent that has gone rogue. This movie has been directed the same way as many other Stallone movies have been directed. They give the feeling of a grungy looking set, usually with dense jungle or exotic scenery. The typical guerrilla fighters emerge later, with painted faces to symbolize their loyalty to the ‘General.’ The movie is filled with tons of action, blood, explosions, bullets, more explosions, houses exploding, planes shooting docks, more bullets, guns, beating up ex-boyfriends, bodies hitting the floor….. Ok, I think you get the point
I was extremely impressed by this Stallone movie (I’m not a fan of his movies), and I’d definitely recommend this movie to anyone. The editing is cleanly cut and there is no excessive use of CGI, which seems to be more and more evident in movies nowadays.
